RFL CEO recognised in Queen’s New Year’s Honours
As colleagues and friends at RFL, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to our CEO, Adrian Smith who was recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list and has been awarded an OBE for services to the financial sector. We are delighted that Adrian has been rewarded for his commitment over 10 years to developing the Dormant Assets Scheme to where it is now and maximising monies for good causes. As we now expand the Scheme into new sectors including Insurance and Pensions, Investment and Wealth Management and Securities, we look to increase still further the funds we can make available to achieve social impact.
Jane Hanson, Chair of Reclaim Fund Ltd and the Dormant Asset Expansion Board, was one of the first to congratulate Adrian.
“Adrian is thoroughly deserving of this award for his 10+ years of tireless and passionate leadership towards the goal of maximising monies available to good causes. As we head closer to the £2bn mark in monies received from the Bank and Building Society Sector, we are poised to expand the Scheme into broader financial services which Adrian has been pivotal in developing and shaping.”
On hearing the news of his award, Adrian commented,
“I have a great team around me who deserve the honour just as much, because it’s very much a team effort. It’s a new experience for me, but I’m hugely excited and very proud.”
